Ethnica was founded about two years ago by Yehuda Ashash and Elad Gabai, who infused the band with different shades of music and tempo, tunes, texts and a well of inspiration. The two of them joined Jerusalemite producer Yomtov Gazit, who manages and represents the ensemble, and hit the road.

The Ethnica band consists of about seven Jerusalem-based musicians boasting a variety of cultural influences – from the sweeping rhythms of Rock, to the enchanting sounds of Turkish, Arabic, Gypsy and Greek music – to name just a few. Ethnica puts on an enchanting, exciting performance featuring complex compositions and sweeping tempos which nobody can stay immune to.

Jerusalem musician Elad Gabai plays the magical instruments of Turkey – the Kanoon, the Oud and the Jumbush - with a virtuoso flair.

Bass player Yuda Ashash , who hails from the world of jazz and rock, envelops the ethnic instruments in North African rhythms.

Renowned Saz and electric guitar player Eliyahu Digmee is unique in his field and astounds his listeners with his spellbinding musical scales.

Wondrous violinist Nir Sarousi is known for his sweeping Balkan style (he is also currently performing with the Habreira Hativit band).

Jerusalem percussionist Ofer Benita specializes in a rhythmic blend of Eastern and Western tempos.

Moshe Nuri 's ethnic sound involves a variety of percussion instruments from the east.

Keyboardist Yaron Daffan lends the band its rich harmonic base.
